Richard Newton

Trainee Solicitor

I currently manage a full conveyancing caseload, including freehold and leasehold purchases, sales and re-mortgages/transfers of equity. As well as Residential Conveyancing I also assist with Commercial Property transactions, including drafting and approving leases, options and similar agreements.

In addition to property focused work, I also undertake Private Client practice including will drafting, obtaining grants of representation and post-grant administration of estates.

At university I originally studied Mathematics & Business Management, attaining a Bachelor of Science (Honours). This initially led me to a career in finance and economics, where I spent four years working as a commercial analyst at a global manufacturing company in the steel industry. Thereafter I worked in a similar role at a tertiary sector company. I gained invaluable experience in both of these commercially orientated roles where I developed many transferrable skills.

After deciding to pursue a career in Law, I commenced the Graduate Diploma in Law in September 2012 which I completed in 2014. I subsequently completed the Legal Practice Course in July of 2018, obtaining a distinction. Following this success, I have now begun my final period of recognised training with a view to becoming a qualified Solicitor.
